It’s always been so weird to me how the response to drug addicted homeless people is to just let them die outside from quitting cold turkey on the cold hard concrete while being stared at by snobby ass hats cuz “oh that’s what they get for choosing to do drugs” or what ever the fuck

depriving homeless addicts wont magically make them not addicted to drugs.

It’s a whole obsession in this gross ass western society with punishing marginalized poor people and “”teaching them a lesson””

What really fucking gets me is that everybody knows drug addiction commonly begins as a desperate relief from some sort of physical or emotional pain, that a lot of people turn to drugs when their existence is so shit they can’t see any other way to take a break from their misery. Everyone ought to be able to feel sympathy for that yet the war on drugs has RAMMED it down society’s throat that addicts are not only worthless scum, but selfishly chose to be and therefore deserve no forgiveness or help.

Kinda fucked up that y'all miss the drug war didn’t invent or popularize hatred on addicts, it weaponized existing long standing and fervent addict hatred to accomplish other goals

Like one of the pivotal factors in 20s/30s dystopia literature was to portray systems that relied on making people drug addicts, because the audience “knows” addicts are bad and making them is bad. British propaganda in the 19th century derided the Chinese as useless addicts to the opium the British sold, etc

So in Japan it’s called Kirinomitake while in Texas it’s called either Texas Star (because after releasing spores it’s unfolded into a star shape) or the Devil’s Cigar because it starts out as a long oblong mushroom but then it unfolds with an ominous hissing noise and releases a big smoky black cloud of spores.

It only grows in these two places, and people did genetic testing and a bunch of math to determine that the two populations started diverging from each other nineteen million goddamn years ago, so it’s not possible for humanity to have moved it from one place to the other. They’re at the same latitude, but 11,000 fucking kilometers apart not to mention the goddamn ocean in the way.

This item is a supplementary factory sheet produced by the Food and Drug Administration officials that detailed their inspection of the Hershey factory on January 22, 1929. The supplementary factory sheet also includes sample labels of some Hershey products of years past, like Hershey’s honey, Hershey’s “Quikmix” ice cream mix, and Hershey’s “Sprigs” shredded vanilla chocolate. This report also offers an interesting look at the functions and responsibilities of the United States Food and Drug Administration.

I have had 3 mineral posts flagged as adult content today. They contained a tourmaline, a muscovite, and a galena. On Friday I had 3 fossil posts flagged as adult content, including a fossil fish, a fossil tooth from a mastodon, and a Tyrannosaur vertebrae. I’ve submitted appeals for each. This has been getting worse over the past month, apparently most of geology content is now only for adults.
